FILE 00 / WORKING SYSTEM CONCEPT

Stimulate the nerve at the right point in the stride.

Norysr is a pre-prototype research proposal for pediatric cerebral-palsy foot drop. It asks whether local motion and muscle sensing could time surface electrical stimulation during gait. There is no finished device, participant dataset or measured performance.

EVIDENCE STATUS

Earlier review withdrawn.

NORYSR PARTICIPANTS

0

No original participant data.

01 / CONTROL LOOP

Five operations. One timing decision to prove.

The proposal is narrow on purpose. It does not diagnose cerebral palsy, prescribe stimulation or replace a clinician. It defines a benchtop control loop whose timing and failure behavior can be measured.

01

Read the shank

A distal-shank inertial sensor and two surface-EMG channels are the current sensing hypothesis. Exact acquisition settings remain provisional.

02

Estimate gait phase

A compact local model would classify stance and swing. No Norysr model, dataset, accuracy result or timing trace exists yet.

03

Test predictive timing

The team intends to compare motion-only and fused motion-plus-muscle signals rather than assume that either method works.

04

Gate stimulation safely

Any future surface-FES command path must default off and remain inside independently enforced limits defined with qualified clinical and safety review.

05

Record what happened

A future session record would retain timing, confidence, settings and faults without moving the control loop to the cloud.

02 / EVIDENCE BOUNDARY

The evidence map is being rebuilt from primary sources.

Release review found citation identifiers that did not match the works they were said to identify. The earlier paper and its quantitative summaries have been withdrawn until every source and dependent claim is checked.

Identity
Match every DOI, PMID and preprint identifier to the correct title, authors and year.
Claim
Read the source and confirm that it reports the attributed population, method and result.
Boundary
Keep published findings separate from unmeasured Norysr hypotheses.
A polished review is not evidence until its sources survive verification.

03 / OPEN WORK

The next useful proof is a measured bench trace.

Before any participant-facing claim, the project needs a prototype whose synchronized sensor input, model output, command timing and fault behavior can be independently inspected.

A

Audit the evidence

Verify primary identifiers and remove every claim that cannot be traced to a source.

B

Prototype and measure

Select components, verify isolation and default-off behavior, then publish complete timing and fault results.

C

Obtain qualified review

Clinical, ethics, electrical-safety and regulatory review must precede any participant-facing plan.
